Local by default

edgar can run its AI entirely on your own Mac. In that mode, your documents and prompts never leave your device — we can't see them because they never reach us.

edgar Cloud is opt-in

When you choose edgar Cloud, your prompt and any attached content are sent to our hosted service and on to the model provider you selected (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Zhipu) via OpenRouter, solely to generate your response. edgar shows a clear indicator whenever data leaves your device.

Accounts & billing

Sign-in is handled by Clerk; payments by Stripe. We store your email and what you've purchased so we know what you can access. We don't sell your data.
